Family Pictures...

Whew ~ so this was a treat to get done! I did them on my own ~ and trying to set the camera for the timer and making it back in time with a 3 year old that wants to be RIGHT next to mommy is kind of difficult sometimes! Overall the pictures turned out pretty good ~ as good as what you can expect with a tired 3 year old and a newborn ~ and a Daddy that forgot about doing it and was a gem for playing along - even though he really wanted to be at home on that warm evening getting other stuff done around the house!

Where has the time gone?

it's amazing that when you are pregnant - it seems like 9 months is FOREVER - but after you receive your bundle of joy - the time just FLIES by ~ I can't believe that Brayden is already 6 weeks old and that Hunter is already 3! I mean seriously ~ where does the time go? I make every effort to snap a picture of both of them EVERYDAY! I would love to be able to just bottle up the priceless things that they do ~ the toothless grins from Brayden (pry just gas - but I'll take it!) ~ or when Hunter comes to me and whispers to me that he has a secret ~ "I love you mama!" ~ or to watch Hunter and how he loves on Brayden and is SUCH a good big brother!
Brayden is starting to do SO much ~ when he stays awake long enough! He is starting to smile at things along with "talk" ~ which amazes Hunter ~ he can't understand why Brayden just doesn't ask for things and why all he does is cry for stuff!

Tonight was amazing to Josh and me ~ Hunter let Brayden use his blanket to go to sleep while playing on the floor ~ and when it was time for Hunter to go to bed we told him that he could take his blanket back from Brayden ~ and he said "No - I'll just use his blanket ~ it's okay ~ he's asleep with it!" If you don't know ~ Hunter is like Linus from "the peanuts" with his blanket ~ it goes EVERYWHERE with him!

As always ~ more pictures posted!!!!

Carving Pumpkins

Hunter and Daddy finally got to carve the pumpkins (well not all of them - we would like a couple left for Halloween!)
Hunt had a blast carving them ~ and even wanted to color on his smaller pumpkins - but we haven't done that yet (I'm sure that we will later)

After they got all done carving the pumpkins ~ Hunter helped put them out on the porch along with the corn stalks (from our garden!) ~ and "helped" light the pumpkins up so that we could see them!

Pictures are posted if you would like to see ~ along with a video of Hunter 'carving' pumpkins with daddy!

Pumpkin Patch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We took Hunter to the pumpkin patch after many days of being asked for us to go ~ (not quite understanding that the pumpkins weren't ready yet - but hey!)
When we first got there Josh took him over to a wagon with the smaller pumpkins and told him to pick a couple out ~ whelp ~ he thought it was an assembly line to see how many he could get on our wagon ~ we had to finally stop him after about 6 pumpkins into it.
After he picked up his we went over to the bigger pumpkins where we told him that he could pick whatever pumpkin he wanted - he would just have to carry it ~ so needless to say ~ he went for the biggest one at first ~ only to realize that it was PRETTY heavy!
Since he is SUCH a good big brother ~ he saw little baby pumpkins that he had to get them for Brayden ~ (Hunter picked 3 for Brayden!)

pictures... AND a video of Hunter looking through all the pumpkins!

One month checkup

WOW - do we have a baby that LOVES to eat! LOL ~ Brayden gained 2 lbs and grew 2 inches in a month! So now he is 9 lbs 4 ozs and 22 1/4 inches long ~ OMG - I hope that kind of growing doesn't keep up - he'll be 10 feet tall! LOL ~ He had to get one shot - BUT not to worry - Hunter held his hand so that he would be tough and not cry (scream is more like it!) Poor thing!

Bath Time

Brayden has realized that baths aren't as evil as what he first thought that they were ~ he really enjoys them now! We had a bath tonight with NO screaming or crying! After he was all done ~ he even thought that it would be fun to stay up for a while and "chat" with us! Hunter thinks it's awesome when Brayden will make a face back at him OR even "talk" back to him!
We are starting to get smiles (hopefully not just gas!) randomly while talking and playing with Brayden! Here is a picture JUST before he has fallen asleep as I was able to catch him in a mid laugh! It's hilarious ~ sometimes I think that I'm gonna wake him up from laughing so hard while holding him! I remember that Hunter did the same thing (I'm sure that all babies do this - it's just priceless!)
