Who says Friday night football can't become violent...

This past Friday night ~ I had asked Umma to come over to the house to keep an eye on Brayden (believe me - it took a lot to twist her arm!) so that Hunter and I could go to Daddy's game at Huron. (I knew that it would be chilly with it being right off the lake - so I didn't want to take Brayden out in that)
When we first got there ~ we had to move immediately due to some of the strong language towards the officials (I know that it's gonna happen ~ but I don't think that Hunter hearing the f bomb repeated about the officials is the right thing!) Daddy noticed that we were there and we ventured over to see him as they exited the field for half time ~ to our amazement ~ we got to go into the locker room with them while they rested for half time. Believe me ~ Hunter thought this was AWESOME!! He was in awww! After half time ~ we went back out to watch the game from the fence so that we could just watch and not have to hear much from the fans.
I had already had in my mind that we were planning on leaving a little early because i didn't want to get caught in traffic since Umma was back at the house and we had a 30+ minute drive home yet ~ so with 2 minutes left ~ we took off ~ ONLY to find out that Huron scored again right after we left to tie up the game to put it in overtime.
I think that if you read the first part of the link - you will understand my headline to this blog ~ o yea ~ Josh was the one that made the "game changing call" so needless to say ~ Josh was calling my phone frantically to make sure that we were okay and to see if we were home yet ~ I missed a couple of his calls because I was talking to my mom and didn't hear my phone - OOPS!

Rocking it with Mickey

SO ~ we took Hunter to the Rocking party with Mickey this year @ the Seagate Center ~ we took him last year to the Disney Playhouse Live and he loved it so much that we decided to try another show this year ~ we figured that it would also be good for him to just go out and have Mommy and Daddy time alone and have our undivided attention for a couple hours! He LOVED it and was so excited when he found out that Buzz Light Year would be on stage!

We kept it a secret until Saturday morning (only because we didn't want to hear 8 million questions about when we were going, where it was at, etc) ~ When we got back to my parents house to pick up Brayden ~ I don't think that Hunter took a break while trying to tell Umma & Papaw about his afternoon! The worse thing of all - is Hunter started coming down with something - so as excited as he was Saturday evening ~ we basically dosed him with drugs to fight off whatever he was getting! Poor thing...

a good morning!

So this morning Josh had to go back to work ~ and I had found out from my mom that she was sick and felt like she had the flu (so needless to say - not that we didn't want her help - we just didn't want her germs!) This is a picture that I took at 9:00 AM ~ they were still both zonked! (and yes - because I'm "that mom" - I checked to make sure that they were BOTH breathing!)

Also - from later that day ~ here is a video of Hunter talking to Brayden ~ the first part is kind of mumbled because I caught him talking to him ~ he was telling him that when he takes a bath that his hands will get wrinkly!

Brayden's 1st Doctor Appointment

So...we had our first doctor appointment on Friday ~ we have healthy kids!!!!! Brayden is 'just right' as our doctor informed us! It was a little rockie since I was unable to drive PLUS it was right at nap time ~ so my wonderful mom came to our house to pick us up and drive us to the doctors! (nothing like being a grown up and having to ask your mom to take you some place! OMG!) Hunter feel asleep on the way to the doctors - so once we got there we said "okay - what are we gonna do?" - so my mom carried Hunter into the office and I just took Brayden out of his car seat and carried him into the office. Once we finally got back into the room ~ Hunter behaved perfectly! Of course, Brayden wasn't very happy since he had to be naked (I'm sure as a man - he'll grow to like 'that stage')

When the doctor was checking him over (and he was crying) Hunter made it VERY clear to the Doctor for him to NOT hurt his brother! Hunter was very upset about it! Overall ~ he checked out clear and free and doesn't have to go back till his month check up. Since Brayden was so brave and Hunter was such a good big brother ~ Hunter got a sucker!

It's a ......... BoY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our newest addition has arrived into our family! On Monday ~ August 31st at 2:40 pm ~ Brayden Lawrence was welcomed into our family! He weighed 7 lbs 4 ozs and was 19 1/2 inches long! He is the spitting imagine of Hunter when he was born (I'll have to make sure to label the pictures so that they don't get switched!!!)
Hunter is SO very proud! At first he was a little 'iffy' of him ~ but once Hunter realized that we weren't trading him (Hunter) for the baby ~ he was OK with being his big brother! He really liked that Brayden had gotten him a present and was willing to share his trucks with him already (we'll see how long the 'sharing' will last!) He even shared his blanket with him!
It took us until this morning to name Brayden ~ we didn't really have a boy name picked out ~ so it took Mommy and Daddy last night to go through a 'list' of names and narrow it down!

Everyone seems to be adjusting well ~ will update with more later!
